As an anthropologist, author, and activist, Dr. Treena Orchard is committed to greasing the wheels of social change. For over twenty years, she has conducted research with vulnerable communities, including people in sex work, populations impacted by HIV/AIDS, and Indigenous societies. The key issues she explores are sexuality, gender, and health, which she examines through a feminist lens. Dr. Orchard is a lead author on landmark publications about sex work in India and Canada, along with papers that explore sexuality and disability, the experiences of Indigenous youth, and counselors who work with male survivors of sexual abuse. Her book about the arts-based research method called body mapping revolutionized the field and is being adapted in exciting ways around the world.
